Bengaluru Airport: Air India Introduces Self Check-In & Bag Drop For San Francisco Flights
Air India remains committed to integrating innovative solutions to enhance passenger convenience and satisfaction.

Air India, one of India’s top airlines, is now offering Self-Service Check-in and Self Baggage Drop services for passengers heading to San Francisco from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.

This means travelers can handle their check-in and baggage drop on their own from now on.

Already available for domestic flights, Air India plans to extend this service to its routes to Singapore and Male, two other international destinations from Bengaluru.

According to Press Release, this automated initiative aims to provide a seamless airport experience, especially for Bengaluru’s tech-savvy travelers heading to the Silicon Valley of the US.

Donald Hunter, Head of Global Airport Operations and Ground Handling at Air India, highlighted the airline’s commitment to enhancing customer experience. He mentioned that this facility eliminates waiting times at check-in counters, providing a smoother pre-boarding experience. Plans are also in place to introduce similar services at more airports in India and globally.

With these automated self-service options, Air India passengers can print their boarding passes, tag their baggage, and drop it at designated slots independently, without the need for counter check-in. This not only saves time but also grants passengers more freedom to enjoy their journey. They can even customize their trips by selecting preferred seats and updating frequent flyer details directly from the self-service kiosk.

Previously, Air India had introduced a similar integrated self-baggage drop and self-kiosk check-in service at Terminal 3 of Delhi airport, but only for domestic and Australia-bound international flights.
