Hyderabad Metro: Officials Walk 14 Km To Finalize Airport Route, Details Inside
The construction of Chandrayangutta interchange station poses engineering hurdles, needing alignment with Old City Metro extension and proper concourse-platform level integration.

Officials from Hyderabad Airport Metro Rail Ltd (HAML) took a 14-kilometer stroll to decide the route and possible station spots for the Airport Metro.

Leading the way was MD NVS Reddy, who walked from Nagole to Chandrayangutta, marking the initial leg of the Airport Metro.

After the inspection, Reddy provided crucial suggestions to officials on how to tackle challenges along the route. He emphasized the need for careful planning of land acquisition due to the presence of flyovers between Nagole and Chandrayangutta, as reported by TOI.

One significant suggestion was to locate the new Nagole Airport Metro station close to the existing one, connected by a skywalk. Additionally, officials proposed shifting the alignment near Musi to avoid utility interference and adding a station after crossing Musi for better connectivity to Kothapet junction.

Regarding station placement, it was suggested to locate the Nagole RTO station near Alkapuri junction for better connectivity to the ORR. Challenges were foreseen at the LB Nagar Metro station due to underpasses and flyovers, necessitating a skywalk connection to the existing corridor.

Furthermore, officials highlighted the need to adjust the height of the Airport Metro line at Bairamalguda/Sagar Road junction and suggested strategic placement of proposed stations to serve nearby communities.

Reddy also emphasized the engineering challenge of constructing the Chandrayangutta interchange station due to existing flyovers and integration requirements with the Old City Metro extension.

To ensure proper integration and address concerns, Reddy instructed officials to gather input from traffic police and the public for finalizing station locations and names.
