New Delhi: French auto major Renault has said it will launch a car in partnership with Japan's Nissan to rival the Tata Nano.

The company has hinted that its car will cost around $ 2,550. Renault's CEO said at the World Economic Forum in Davos that the car is likely to be rolled out 18 months after Tata Nano's launch, which is slated to be in the third quarter this year.

Renault is also in talks with Bajaj Auto to explore the possibility of rolling out a 3,000-dollar car. Bajaj had showcased its low-cost small car in New Delhi earlier this month.
