Amid the usual low demand for Delhi Development Authority (DDA) flats, one might be surprised to knowthat the city’s urban development body has sold a whopping 1,100 flats in just an hour on the very first day of sale under its new housing scheme.
Earlier, thousands of flats remained unsold. However, this time, DDA has come up with a special project called the Sasta Ghar and Madhyam Vargiya Housing Schemes, under which flats are being sold on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.
Speaking about the spectacular response from home buyers, an official said this time, there is a lot of enthusiasm. DDA has built flats in Jasola, Narela, Rohini and Ramgarh Colony of Delhi under this new scheme.
All the 41 MIG flats for the middle income group are located in Jasola, which were sold within a short time on Tuesday. This time the prices have also been kept very low which have added to the enthusiasm of buyers.
According to officials, about 450 DDA flats in Rohini and 100 in Ramgarh Colony have been sold. 41 MIG flats in Jasola were also sold within an hour and 350 in Narela were sold out on the very first day. This time DDA has offered 40,000 flats for sale under three different projects under LIG, MIG and EWS categories.
The officials claimed that one of the biggest reasons for the increase in demand for DDA flats is easy accessibility of metro. The Rithala-Nerla-Kundli Metro Corridor is attracting buyers in Narela, they said.
A single window system has been put in place for the convenience of the people. Buyers can get all the information and view all documents related to the property from there.
Under DDA’s new scheme, LIG and EWS flats in Ramgarh Colony, Sirsapur, Loknayakpuram, Rohini and Narela are being sold at cheap rates. 34,000 flats are being sold in this category. The prices start from Rs 11.5 lakh.
