This is considered as the lean season in the travel industry, so, tour operators are going out of their way to attract prospective clients, and some are even offering discounts of up to 50 per cent on their tour packages this monsoon.

Here are the list of some of the cheapest and best tour packages available this year.

Far East: Those planning to visit the Far East, can choose the Raj Travels Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore package.

This nine-night and ten-day package will cost you just Rs 45,000 as opposed to Rs 56,000 earlier.

Similarly, the Cox & Kings package, which was priced at Rs 55,000 during the summer season, is now down to Rs 44,000.

Goa: The two-day Five Star Goa Package of Raj Travels that was worth Rs 16,000 last summer now costs Rs 7, 999 while that offered by Cox & Kings costs just Rs 7,195.

There couldn’t be any better time to visit Goa than during the monsoons; it appears to be raining discounts in this part of the country!

You could get good discounts at all good hotels and resorts which are not crowded at this time of the year.

The rains could very well prove to be blessing in disguise if you are looking for a quiet vacation or solitude.

If you are planning on going to Goa by road, then you're looking at covering a distance of about 580 kms from Mumbai.

However, while driving down this time around, you can enjoy the scenic beauty and the waterfalls even more, on account of the rains.

Once you reach there, you can choose from an array of hotels and make sure that with the plethora of discounts on offer, you clinch the best deal on offer.

The first thing you will come across while driving down to the south of Goa will be the Catigao Wildlife Sanctuary, where you could enjoy a walk in the lap of nature, in one of the second largest of the three sanctuaries, in the state.
