New Delhi: The holidays are here and with a long weekend ahead, Indians are giving the sun and sand a break and instead giving into the child within.

Inspite of the Thai coup, Indians are still willing to boogie in Bangkok, with Disneyland in Hong Kong being the hot holiday spot this season.

In the run up to festive season, the number of advertisements on holiday packages go up by almost 40 per cent.

Travel agents and various tourisim boards are throwing in heavy discounts and attractive package tours to lure families.

The biggest draw is shopping for women and exciting entertainment options for children.

While Thailand is the top choice for most, Malaysia follows a close second, but Mickey mania is set to give Hongkong the edge.

The Hong Kong Disneyland recently announced new schemes and promotional offers, which will last till the new year

Editor-in-Chief, Travel & Leisure, South Asia, Payal Kohli, "Hong Kong has a Disneyland, Singapore is doing a lot of things to attract children and the Indian currency goes much further there. One spends more on shopping and less on the ticket."

Where a trip to Goa will cost Rs 15,000 per person, a trip to Hong Kong will mean shelling out atleast Rs 26,000 and this includes stay and sightseeing.

What's your reaction?
