Indian Railways is constantly trying to provide better facilities to passengers. This effort is going on everywhere, from stations to trains. In this series, the facility of an executive lounge is being provided to the passengers for staying at railway stations. Recently, the facility has been started at Prayagraj station in Uttar Pradesh. Although one has to pay a charge to stay here, there is a discussion going on about whether the facility of entry on a credit card like an airport can be provided here too.
The Railway Ministry is redeveloping 1334 big and small stations across the country. Many of these stations are being made like airports. Work has already started in this direction. Executive lounges are also being built in these stations.
These facilities will be available in the lounge:
Facilities, including relaxing sofas and charging points, have been installed here for the passengers to sit. Passengers can use the Execute Lounge by paying a fixed fee. Apart from this, passengers can buy snacks, food, water, tea, coffee, and packed items in the Execute Lounge. Newspapers and medicines will be available here.
At present, there are lounges at all the airports in the country. You can stay in these lounges for two hours after entering. You can sit and relax here. There is also a buffet for food and drinks; for this facility, you have to pay a charge of more than Rs 1000. But with the credit card of many banks, you can get entry for only two rupees. You can go inside and eat anything you want to.
Meanwhile, an official of the Railway Ministry said that the lounge has been outsourced. The concerned companies will be suggested to give such offers. Since the airport becomes almost free with a credit card after such an expensive entry, it can be possible at the station as well. So that more and more passengers can get the benefit of this.
Many major train stations in India offer the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation’s (IRCTC) Executive Lounge service. You can wait for the train in luxury in this executive lounge.
Passengers can access tea and coffee, periodicals, newspapers, Wi-Fi, train information, restrooms, and other amenities in the railway lounge. However, using this facility is subject to fees.
