LinkedIn, the professional networking platform, recently released the 2024 LinkedIn Top Startups India List – an annual ranking of the emerging companies where professionals want to work. Based on its data, the Top Startups list helps professionals discover emerging companies across a wide range of industries, and arms them with the insights they need when applying for their next job.

The Top Startups list is fuelled by data based on actions of more than 1 billion LinkedIn members globally across four core areas: employee growth, jobseeker interest, member engagement within the company and its employees, and how well these startups have pulled talent from the flagship LinkedIn Top Companies list.

Along with this data, LinkedIn India’s Career Expert and Head of Editorial Nirajita Banerjee shared tips on how to land a job at a LinkedIn Top Startup;

Adopt a growth mindset: Startups evolve quickly, and they value talents who are adaptable, and eager to learn and grow with the organisation. It is important to showcase your intellectual curiosity and passion for continuous learning – such as how you’ve overcome challenges, learned from setbacks or embraced opportunities to develop new skills. Working at a startup also means being part of a collaborative and dynamic team. Be sure to highlight your ability to build relationships across functions, listen actively, and contribute to collective goals.

Highlight how you will be a culture fit: Research about the company’s culture and people on LinkedIn. Highlight your ability to work collaboratively with others and how you have added value. Don’t be afraid to showcase your personality and unique talent.

Demonstrate critical thinking: The startup environment thrives on fresh perspectives – creativity and problem-solving skills will be your greatest assets. Demonstrate your approach to solving problems and your strategic thinking. Share examples of how you have done that in the past and what you learned from that experience.

Showcase your passion: Startups are passionate about their mission, and they want people who share the same values. Show that you have a genuine interest in the industry and enthusiasm for what they do. In interviews, demonstrating a deep understanding of their goals shows that you’re invested in their success, not just looking for any job.

Zepto Tops LinkedIn’s 2024 India Startup Rankings

While e-grocery platform Zepto (#1) retains its lead for a second consecutive year. Several other emerging companies in the category have grabbed top spots. These include compliance firms Sprinto (#2) and Scrut Automation (#11), biofuel supply chain platform BiofuelCircle (#8), conversation intelligence platform Convin (#14), e-commerce platform GoKwik (#18), and cloud storage management platform Lucidity (#3), which debuts on the list this year.
