New Delhi: Cable operators in Mumbai have called off the strike and resumed services. Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court will be hearing the intervention petition by cable operators on Wednesday.
Broadcasters say that exact certification rules are not clear and was expected to be part of the proposed Broadcast Bill.
Advertisers may seek compensation from broadcasters. Cable Operators And Distributors Association will meet Deputy Chief Minister, RR Patil this evening to discuss the stand-off.
Most operators had taken of all channels except Doordarshan off air, protesting raids conducted by the Mumbai police's Enforcement Department. The raids were in response to a Bombay High Court order banning the telecast of adult content on television.
Cable operators say that they are only service providers and that the onus of regulating content lies with the broadcasters.
