New Delhi: Reliance Jio will top competitors’ best tariff plans with 20% more data when its free offer ends on April 1, pressing ahead with its strategy of aggressive pricing-led market disruption that has helped the hitherto free 4G mobile service sign up a record 100 million subscribers in just 170 days.
“We will not only match the highest selling tariff of each of the other leading Indian telecom operators, but in addition we will provide 20% more data in each of these plans,” Ambani told a tech industry conference.

Voice calls will continue to remain free after April 1. Jio is also continuing with its policy of not charging for STD or roaming.
Apart from this, Ambani also announced the launch of a special plan called the Jio Prime Membership Programme, available only for existing customers and those who sign up before March 31.
The Jio Prime offer will be open for membership from March 1-31 for a one-time fee of Rs 99 for a year. Jio Prime members will also be eligible for the full bouquet of the network’s media services.
“Data is the oxygen of Digital Life and Jio promises to provide world-class data at prices affordable to all Indians,” Ambani said.
Jio currently has twice the number of 4G base stations than all other mobile services put together and by the end of 2017 the Jio network will be present in nearly all the cities, towns and villages of India covering 99% of India’s population, Ambani said.
