Mumbai: Richard Branson promoted Virgin Atlantic Airways on Wednesday, announced the launch of daily direct flights between Mumbai and London from December 1. This raises the number of flights from India to the British capital to 14.
"The corporate traveller forms a major chunk of the international air traffic from Mumbai and this segment offers immense potential," Virgin Atlantic regional manager (India-Middle East) Andrew Fyfe said.
The airline would be flying Airbus A 340-300 on the route and is to offer a special return economy launch fare of Rs 17,777 in the route.
Currently, Virgin flies three weekly flights on Mumbai-London route. As per the new schedule, the flight will depart every day from Mumbai at 1455 hrs (IST) and will reach London at 1935 hrs.
