National Award-winning actor Chiyaan Vikram has tasted both success and failure in the past year. Both the Ponniyin Selvan films released to critical and commercial success while last year’s Cobra did not make much of an impact. Vikram is now awaiting the long-delayed release of his Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One- Yuddha Kaandam which will be released on November 24. He also has a movie called Thangalaan in the pipeline. Apart from these, a new film starring Vikram was announced on Saturday. The title has not been revealed yet and it is tentatively being called Chiyaan62.
An announcement video for Chiyaan62 has been released, offering viewers an idea of what to expect after production is finished. The director has been revealed to be SU Arun Kumar which piques interest further as he is known for critically acclaimed films like Sethupathi, Pannaiyarum Padminiyum and Sindhubaadh. His most recent Chithha, starring Siddharth, was also released to a great response.
The announcement video for Vikram’s upcoming film, which will soon begin principal photography, opens with footage from a police station in the Thiruvallur district’s Tiruttani. A woman is seen running into the station with her child, complaining that she was nearly attacked and then managed to flee. Also visible at the police station after being detained for interrogation is a street band. Following a couple of people who have been severely beaten up breaking into the station, Vikram makes an explosive entrance and continues to beat them up. It then shows Vikram mending his slippers and strolling carelessly before being stopped by the police. He, however, delivers a goosebump-inducing punch line and walks off.
The film’s tone and its central theme of a bold and adventurous Vikram, whose character is already promising much for his admirers worldwide, are revealed in this single promo. It is backed by an amazing background score composed by GV Prakash.
