Dhanush-starrer Tamil film Captain Miller is in its final leg of shooting, according to the latest reports. Social media is buzzing with anticipation because of this new update. The film is set in the pre-Independence era. Captain Miller is scheduled to hit the theatres on December 15, 2023. The makers are planning to release it in multiple languages. As per reports, the film was scheduled to release in October earlier; but Captain Miller’s director Arun Matheswaran wanted to take it slow and plan it well because the film involves a lot of VFX to depict the bygone period. Actor John Kokken, who will be featured in Captain Miller, gave an interview recently to a Malayalam TV channel. He said that it is going to be a mega film, and not just a regular South Indian drama. He claimed, “It’s going to come out like a Hollywood film, as Arun Matheswaran’s style is different. Dhanush, when he appears on the screen, it’s going to be big! When the film comes out, there will be different levels of hype for it. Captain Miller is going to be big, massive and huge.”
Captain Miller’s teaser was released back in July, which caused a storm among the fans and the industry. It was posted on YouTube by the official channel of Sathya Jyothi Films. Ever since its release, the teaser has gained 31 million views. It was dropped on Dhanush’s 40th birthday, on July 28.
Arun Matheswaran is also the writer of the film. Captain Miller’s cast includes Dhanush in the titular role, along with Priyanka Arul Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, Nivedhithaa Sathish, John Kokken, and Edward Sonnenblick. Reports suggest that Shiva Rajkumar is playing a negative role in the film. Captain Miller is being produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan, under Sathya Jyothi Films. The music composer of the film is GV Prakash Kumar.
