Flowers in the shape of Chandrayaan spacecraft have also been placed in the garden for this occasion.

Botanical gardens house rare species of flora and are one of the best places of recreation for nature enthusiasts. Botanical Gardens Conservation International has conducted a study recently. According to this research, there are approximately 3,000 botanical gardens in the world. One of the most famous botanical gardens is the Government Botanical Garden situated in Udhagamandalam, Ooty, Tamil Nadu. The flower show held in this botanical garden is extremely popular. It is held twice every year. Its second season will begin in a few days and is likely to witness a massive footfall. The preparations for the beautification process of this botanical garden are underway. 75,000 flowers have been set up for this purpose. That’s not all. These flowers have been made in the shape of the Chandrayaan spacecraft, and that is one of the major tourist attractions.

Flower Pots and other colourful flowers have also been placed in the Botanical Garden. A total of 5,000 flowers and the slogan ‘Go Green’ have also been used in the flower show. Seats in the shape of fruits like watermelons, cantaloupes, carrots, apples, and papaya, have been set up in the garden. These seats have become a major amusement for children and adults, who enjoy taking pictures of them.

A flower show in the Government Botanical Garden was organised in May this year as well. Tourism minister K Ramachandran and Nilgiris MP, A Raja had jointly inaugurated the 125th edition of this flower show, which was held for five days till May 23. The main attraction of the show was an 18-foot-tall floral model of India’s national bird, peacock. This floral model was made up of 80,000 coronation cut flowers and its replica is 40 ft wide as well. There were other attractions as well like the floral models of leopard, dolphin, bear, and Nilgiri Tahr that were made of 70,000 coronation cut flowers. There were 35,000 potted flowers as well, of nearly 150 varieties. Some other cultural programmes like Tibetan and Toda dance performances were also held as part of the flower show.
