Mansoor Ali Khan-Trisha Controversy: South Indian Artistes' Association To Meet Soon
The South Indian Artistes' Association official said that the actor might be expelled from the association if he did not reply to the letter or if his answer was unsatisfactory.

Actor Mansoor Ali Khan’s lewd comments about Leo co-star Trisha stirred up a big controversy with large-scale backlash targeted towards him. Celebrities and film industry organisations are strongly condemning Khan’s statement. Apart from that, the Theater Owners Association have also said that they will fully cooperate with the action taken by the South Indian Artistes’ Association. Mansoor Ali Khan was asked to retract his remarks in a letter from the South Indian Artistes’ Association, also known as Nadigar Sangam, but he refused.

The actors’ union remains steadfast. Khan’s explanation of the contentious statement was heard by Karunas Mansoor, the Vice President of the association. He stated that the South Indian Artistes’ Association’s executive committee meeting would take place soon. The meeting would discuss the next course of action to be taken against the actor.

He added that the actor might be expelled from the South Indian Artistes’ Association if he did not reply to the letter or if his answer was unsatisfactory. The meeting will discuss whether to keep Mansoor Ali Khan in the Association or dismiss him on a permanent basis. The association has for now, temporarily banned him.

Bharathiraja, the president of the current producer’s union had also slammed Mansoor Ali Khan and said that the actor’s unwillingness to apologize was ‘improper’. He advised the actor to apologize and finish the issue once and for all. In a previous interview with the media, the actor claimed that although he has performed numerous rape scenes with heroines over his career, he was unable to even see his co-star Trisha in Leo and lamented that he could not do the same with her.

Not only were Tamil performers taken aback by this, but Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi also expressed strong disapproval of the statement. In the meantime, Mansoor Ali Khab gave Nadigar Sangam four hours to reverse its temporary ban on him. If the film body doesn’t comply, he threatens to take serious criticism to its face.
