As per reports, around 250 tickets have been booked for women for the 12:30 p.m. show, which is the second show of the day in the SRK Cinemas.

The much-awaited Tamil movie, Leo, featuring Vijay, aka, Thalapathy, has finally hit the theatres. It was released on Thursday. The film has created a lot of buzz and generated massive excitement amongst fans and movie-goers. Be it the powerful dialogues delivered by the protagonist, the dance, or the song, the audience is loving it. Chengalpattu town in Tamil Nadu is grabbing headlines for a special reason regarding the screening of Leo.

The state government, after reviewing the situation and taking inputs from stakeholders including theatre owners, recently denied permission for the 7 a.m. shows for Leo. The makers of the movie approached the court to seek permission for 4 a.m. shows which were denied. Amidst this disappointment, fans made sure to celebrate the release of the movie and thronged to the nearby theatres.

As the screening began at 9 a.m., reportedly the movie attracted a lot of male audiences who were enthralled by the performance of Thalapathy Vijay and the storytelling of Leo. Now, in Chengalpattu town, for the first time, in the SRK Cinemas, one whole show has been reserved for women fans who have been waiting to watch their favourite star on the big screen.

As per reports, around 250 tickets have been booked for women for the 12:30 p.m. show, which is the second show of the day. What makes this extra special is that these arrangements were made for free for the women under the leadership of Chengalpattu District’s Vijay People Movement’s leader MS Balaji.

Leo is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and stars Thalapathy Vijay, Trisha Krishnan and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles. Upon release, it charted history as it became the biggest worldwide opening day for any Tamil movie. The movie reportedly grossed around Rs 140 crore worldwide on its opening day. Leo minted Rs 63 crore nett in the domestic market and earned Rs 74 crore gross in India. In Tamil Nadu, it grossed Rs 30 crore, whereas in Telugu-speaking states it collected Rs 15 crore.
