He married the love of life, KV Shaylaja, whom he met at an art and literature festival held in Tiruvannamalai. He is also one of the most renowned writers of Tamil literature.

Bava Chelladurai has published numerous books and held many positions in the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers Association. Bava is known for his roles in movies like Jai Bhim, Peranbu and Vendhu Thanindathu Kaadu.

During his early days, Bava Chelladurai used to narrate stories in front of 50 people. Now, in Tiruvannamalai, the writer recites stories in front of 500 people. His family members usually upload videos from these events. Bava Chelladurai gained fame through his stint in the Bigg Boss Tamil reality show.
