The Indian cricket team displayed an aggressive style of batting on the fourth day of the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur. India reached a total of 285 at the loss of nine wickets in 34.4 overs and decided to declare their innings having secured a lead of 52 runs. Thanks to their attacking approach, India managed to reach the fastest 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 runs in the history of Tests.

Batting legend Sunil Gavaskar though did not seem much impressed with the batting order.
“You are talking about a man who got almost 9,000 runs in Test cricket batting at No. 4,” said Gavaskar while speaking on JioCinema.
Gavaskar was referring to a change in Virat Kohli’s position in the batting order.
Following the dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal, it was expected Kohli will walk in next, but it wasn’t the case. Instead, it was Rishabh Pant who made his way to the field.
The decision did not pay off as Pant returned to the dressing room scoring nine runs off 11 deliveries. Kohli came down to bat at number five spot and the talismanic India batter scored 47 off 35 balls in the first innings of the second Test.
Kohli went on to achieve a significant feat during his stay. He surpassed Sachin Tendulkar to become the fastest player to score 27,000 international runs.
Kohli did this in his 594th innings while the ‘Master Blaster’ had set the record in 623 innings.
Apart from Kohli and Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting are the other two cricketers who had achieved this record.
Sri Lanka legend Sangakkara required 648 innings to reach the milestone. Australia’s legendary skipper Ricky Ponting breached the mark in 650 innings.
Jaiswal was in sublime form with the young Indian opening batter scoring 72 runs off 51 balls to help India’s push for a win. KL Rahul also chipped in with a crucial 68 additional runs facing 43 deliveries.
