Rohit Sharma remarked that Amit Mishra probably made his debut when they were "in nappies".

Former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma and Lucknow Super Giants’ Amit Mishra were involved in a fun-filled conversation following their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 meeting on Tuesday. Rohit was left astounded after knowing that Mishra was 40 years old. Reacting in his signature style, the Team India skipper responded by saying, “What 40? You’re three years older than me?” Replying to Rohit’s query, the Lucknow Super Giants spinner revealed that he is 41. Leaving others in splits, Rohit remarked that Mishra probably made his debut when they were “in nappies”. The hilarious discussion was shared by Lucknow Super Giants on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

“That ”Arre yaar” felt personal,” read the post shared by Lucknow Super Giants.

Amit Mishra had made his international debut in 2003 during an ODI match against South Africa. In Test cricket, Mishra earned his maiden call-up in a series against Australia in 2008. Two years later, he represented India for the first time in T20I cricket. Mishra made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe in June 2010. In international cricket, he was last seen in action in a T20I game against England in February 2017.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma is currently leading the Indian cricket team in all three formats of the game. Rohit is now all set to lead Team India at the upcoming T20 World Cup scheduled to be played in the West Indies and the USA. Rohit is currently involved in the ongoing edition of the IPL 2024, plying his trade for the five-time champions Mumbai Indians.

In his last IPL outing, Rohit Sharma managed to score four runs against Lucknow Super Giants. Batting first, Mumbai Indians posted 144 runs at the loss of seven wickets at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

During the run chase, Lucknow Super Giants all-rounder Marcus Stoinis came up with a sublime half century to guide the hosts to a four-wicket victory. Stoinis scored 62 off 45 balls as the hosts scored the winning runs with four balls to spare.

“Nice to bowl with the new ball. As someone who is not quick, I can try to shape the ball. Did not expect to bowl three in the powerplay but nice to bowl. I thought the wicket was okay. We knew it was going to be slow. We could have pushed the envelope and scored a bit faster. If those partnerships went for 8-10 more balls, we would have done it more easily,” Marcus Stoinis, who was adjudged Player of the match, said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

With 12 points from 10 games, Lucknow Super Giants are now placed at the third spot in the IPL 2024 standings. In their next match, the KL Rahul-led side will be up against second-placed Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, May 5.
