The Indian Cricket Team are back in training ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 with a large part of the squad currently in New York preparing themselves for another shot at silverware.
The squad is currently in New York, starting their training ahead of the T20 showpiece event. The Strength and Conditioning coach of the team, Soham Desai revealed the plans from a training perspective.
The coach revealed that their first step would be to help them get used to the time-zone change as quickly as possible and the squad participated in a team activity.
The players are excited about playing in the USA and have been enjoying the weather in the Americas.
The S&C coach revealed that they wanted to get some movement off the players implying they had to come out and get moving. This would then allow the management to make the appropriate assessments for the preparation needed for each player ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Among the latest to join include the all-rounder Hardik Pandya who makes his return to the national side following his injury during the ODI World Cup that took place last year. He is currently the vice-captain of the squad and will have a crucial role to play in India’s run in the T20 World Cup.

The Indian team will look to play a similar brand of cricket as they showed in the 50-over tournament where they managed to dominate throughout but fell short in the end against Australia.
Rohit Sharma will hope to see his form with the bat improve as he did not have a great IPL 2024 tournament. While Yashasvi Jaiswal will also look to bring back his consistency as the opening pair remains a big concern.

India will begin their campaign with the group-stage fixture against Ireland on June 5 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
