The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League will start on Friday, March 22. The opening game of the tournament will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Chris Gayle – 175 unbeaten

West Indies star Chris Gayle took the world by storm when the all-rounder smashed 175 runs in just 66 balls while donning a Royal Challengers Bangalore jersey. Playing at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 23, 2013, Gayle hit a whopping 17 sixes and 13 boundaries against the Pune Warriors.

Brendon McCullum – 158 unbeaten

Royal Challengers Bangalore had to experience New Zealand legend Brendon McCullum’s wrath on April 18, 2008. The Kiwi batter smashed a 73-ball 158 in Bengaluru to help the Kolkata Knight Riders secure an easy win.

Quinton de Kock – 140 unbeaten

Speaking of one of the more recent knocks, South Africa wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock was unstoppable at the DY Patil Stadium on May 18, 2022. Playing against the Kolkata Knight Riders, De Kock smashed a 140-run knock in just 70 balls. His innings included 10 boundaries and as many sixes.

AB de Villiers – 133 unbeaten

The Wankhede Stadium witnessed the brilliance of the one and only AB de Villiers on May 10, 2015. Playing against the Mumbai Indians, De Villiers smashed 133 runs in just 59 balls to seal a dominant victory for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

KL Rahul – 132 unbeaten

India wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul shocked IPL fans on September 24, 2020, when the tournament moved to Dubai due to COVID-19. On that day, Rahul smashed a 69-ball 132-run innings that included 14 boundaries and seven sixes against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

AB de Villiers – 129 unbeaten

Making a second appearance on this list, AB de Villiers produced another memorable knock against Gujarat Lions on May 14, 2016, in the IPL. He scored 129 runs in 52 balls while belting 10 boundaries and 12 sixes.

Shubman Gill – 129

The current Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill smashed 129 runs against the Mumbai Indians on May 26, 2023. Playing at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gill achieved the tally in a mere 60 balls guiding the Titans to an easy victory.

Chris Gayle – 128 unbeaten

Chris Gayle’s 128-run knock against Delhi Daredevils on May 17, 2012, is another memorable IPL knock from the West Indies legend. He achieved that number in only 62 balls while smashing seven boundaries and 13 sixes.

Rishabh Pant – 128 unbeaten

Rishab Pant left the Arun Jaitley Stadium in awe with his incredible innings against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 10, 2018. The wicketkeeper batter scored 128 runs in 63 balls in that match. He played that game with an incredible strike rate of 203.17.

Murali Vijay – 127

Murali Vijay produced his best IPL knock in 2010. He scored a whopping 127 runs in a Chennai Super Kings shirt while playing against the Rajasthan Royals. His knock included eight boundaries and 11 sixes.
