'Mature, Driven, Sorted': Riyan Parag Describes Himself In Three Words, Video Goes Viral – WATCH
Parag made his international debut for India during the first T20I of a five-match series against Zimbabwe in Harare on July 6, 2024.

Riyan Parag, who made his ODI debut for India against Sri Lanka in Colombo on August 10, has described himself as mature and sorted in the latest video uploaded by his IPL franchise, the Rajasthan Royals.

In a video shared by the 2008 IPL champions, Parag was asked to describe himself in three words, and in response, he said, “Should I go cliché, calm, cool, collected? But no, I will say… mature, more driven, and sorted.”

Parag, who has been associated in the IPL with the Rajasthan Royals since the 2019 season, was in red-hot form this year. He played in all 16 matches of the IPL 2024 for the Sanju Samson-led side and scored 573 runs with a strike rate of 149.21. He finished as the leading run scorer for RR and third overall in the tournament.

He helped his side qualify for the playoffs by finishing third in the league table, and his red-hot form also caught selectors attention, and he was added to India’s T20I team for the five-match series against Zimbabwe in July.

Parag made his international debut during the first T20I in Harare on July 6. But he failed to do much with the bat and got out for two runs from three balls. He didn’t get a chance to bat in the second match, which India won by 100 runs on July 7, and then was dropped from the playing XI for the next two games. He played the fifth T20I and scored 22 runs.

Despite an average performance during the India tour of Zimbabwe, Parag managed to retain his place in the T20I team for the three-match series against Sri Lanka, and in addition to that, he also earned his maiden ODI call-up.

In the first T20I against Sri Lanka on July 27, Parag picked up three wickets for five runs in 1.2 overs to seal India’s win in a high-scoring match.

His first ODI for India was during the series decider. After receiving a cap from Virat Kohli, Parag bowled nine overs and picked up three wickets for 54 runs to help India restrict Sri Lanka to 248 runs. However, the 249-run target proved too much, and India went on to lose the match by 110 runs.

Parag is now expected to play for his state team, Assam, in the upcoming domestic season and impress with his all-round show.
