After the BCCI officially announced that Rishabh Pant has been cleared to take part in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the star wicketkeeper batter who was out of action for over 14 months due to a road accident shared some insights on the role of his spirituality after his life-threatening accident.
In an interview with the Times of India (TOI), Pant mentioned that being in touch with his spiritual self had a big part to play in his return to cricket. “You become more disciplined if you are spiritual. It’s a personal choice. It helped me concentrate on myself,” said Pant.
The India batter was travelling to his hometown of Roorkee to surprise his mother on the occasion of New Year. However, he dozed off and hit the divider with the car overspeeding. The vehicle rolled over and was caught in flames. That’s when the wicket-keeper batter had to break the windshield and save himself.
