Indian cricketers were recently seen enjoying a fun-filled evening with stand-up comedian Harsh Gujral. Apart from Indian cricketers, a few supporting staff, including fielding coach T Dilip, were also part of the group. Suryakumar Yadav and his men are brimming with confidence after securing a dominant seven-wicket victory in the T20I series opener against Bangladesh. Ahead of the second T20I, some of the team members and coaching staff were enjoying dinner at a restaurant where they met Gujral. He also clicked a couple of group photos with the Indian cricketers and shared those on Instagram. Gujral was captured sitting alongside Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma and Tilak Varma at the dinner table. In both pictures, the Indian T20I captain was seen peeking from behind.
“An evening with the real heroes. The new Team India. Surya bhau yaha b aisa lag raha hai long off Long off Long off pe he baithe hai ekdum peeche, [It seems Surya Bhau is seated at long-off here as well],” Harsh Gujral wrote in the caption of his Instagram post. He also thanked Tilak Varma for letting him be part of the “lovely evening.”
India vs Bangladesh: 2nd T20I – Live Score
Suryakumar Yadav took over the T20I captaincy following the retirement of Rohit Sharma from the shortest format of the game this year. He has already impressed with his leadership qualities. Under Surya, a young Indian side registered a whitewash in a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka earlier this year in July.
With Hardik Pandya returning to the fold, the team appeared to be more dominant in the first T20I against Bangladesh. Two young talents– Nitish Kumar Reddy and Mayank Yadav– also made their T20I debut in Gwalior. Varun Chakaravarthy was recalled and the spinner announced his comeback with a match-defining three-wicket haul.
Arshdeep Singh also picked up three wickets while Mayank Yadav registered figures of 1/21 in his maiden T20I. The Indian batters did not face much trouble during the run chase.
While Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav built the foundation, Hardik Pandya excelled in the role of a finisher. Pandya scored an unbeaten 39 off 16 balls as the hosts scored the winning runs in the 12th over. The second T20I between India and Bangladesh will be played in Delhi tonight.
