The King’s excellence is not just restricted to the bat as Virat Kohli produced a moment of magic with a sensational run-out to dismiss PBKS’ dangerman Shashank Singh in their encounter at Dharamsala on Thursday.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru were forced to bat first in their do-or-die clash against the Punjab Kings, and they would have been more than happy with the hand they were dealt with in retrospect.
‘King’ Virat Kohli reigned supreme with the bat yet again, as the talisman batter clobbered the Punjab bowlers for 92 runs off just 47 balls, in an innings peppered with 7 fours and 6 sixes.

But his excellence was exemplified with his persistence on the field, as the talisman batter threw his body around to scalp the crucial wicket of Shashank Singh.
In the 14th over, with Lockie Ferguson bowling, PBKS, down 5 wickets, had skipper Sam Curran and hard-hitter Shashank Singh at the crease.
Curran played a shorter ball defensively, and pushed hard for a double. Kohli upon noticing the same made a superhuman run for it from deep, to rush towards covers and throw one directly onto the stumps at the bowler’s end whilst falling down.

Kohli’s immaculate throw caught Shashank just inches out of the crease as the bails lit up off the stumps, to dismiss the dangerman and help RCB cement their standing.
Powered by the likes of Kohli, Patidar and Green, RCB mustered a staggering total of 241 runs in 20 overs.
With the ball, RCB got off to a great start with Swapnil Singh dismissing hard-hitting opener Prabhsimran Singh in the very first over. But, this was followed by a walloping partnership between the likes of Rilee Rossouw and Jonny Bairstow, that powered the Punjab Kings to rise up to the challenge.
In came Lockie Ferguson and Karn Sharma to break up the duo and wreak havoc on the PBKS batting line-up, before the likes of Siraj as well chimed in with three wickets of his own to wrap things up and bowl out Punjab for just 181 runs and seal a 60-run win for RCB.
