Star Sri Lankan spinner and former T20I captain Wanindu Hasaranga was on fire for the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League 2024 match played against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts, on Sunday. The 27-year-old picked up four wickets for 16 runs in his quota of four overs to help his side make a comeback in the game after Antigua and Barbuda Falcons got off to a flying start in the 154-run chase. But despite all his efforts, his team failed to get better of the Falcons and went on to lose the match by 2 wickets.
Hasaranga, who also scored 23 runs from 14 balls as a No. 4 batter in the first half of the match, opened his wicket account by dismissing Justin Greaves for 30 runs on the second ball of the 8th over and then caught and bowled Jewel Andrew (3) on the second ball of the 12th over.
On the next delivery, he trapped Shamar Springer in front of the wickets. He completed the catch of Chris Green on the second ball of the 14th over and then dismissed dangerman Sam Billings (18) on the first ball of the 16th over.

The Falcons, who were cruising at 80 for 1 at one point, were left struggling at 110 for 7 in 15.1 overs. But then Imad Wasim joined hands with Roshon Primus (15) and Fabian Allen (13) to help the visitors reach the target in 19.4 overs for the loss of 8 wickets.
Imad remained unbeaten on 17 runs from 13 balls, and he also picked up two wickets for 24 runs in four overs. For his all-round show, the Pakistani star won the Player of the Match award.
