To call India’s batting performance in the second innings of the first Test against South Africa a collapse would be an understatement.
India, as a batting unit, haven’t had a lot of success in the ‘Rainbow Nation’, and in order to counter the very same from happening in the second Test, the Indian team has taken to the nets as they prepare hard to face off against the Proteas.
India, whose dreams of finally winning a Test series in South Africa went up in smoke after their disastrous loss in the first Test, are now looking to avoid a series defeat as preparations are underway in Cape Town.
The BCCI posted a video of the Indian players taking to the nets and sweating it out in anticipation of a tough match against South Africa.

It can be seen in the video that head coach Rahul Dravid, along with bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, was seen having an extensive conversation with pacer Prasidh Krishna.
Krishna, who made his Test debut in the first test, had a tumultuous start to his international Test career as the likes of Dean Elgar smashed him for runs at will, and the youngster went for 93 runs in his 20-over spell and claimed only one wicket to show for it all.
Following a masterclass in Test batting by Dean Elgar, who scored a knock for the ages, slashing and cutting his way to 185 runs against India’s pacers, and young Marco Jansen’s fiery blitzkrieg of 87*, India’s batting order crumbled under the pressure of the South African pacers for a mere dismal total of 131, handing South Africa the win by an innings and 32 runs.
Talisman batter Virat Kohli was the only one who put up a fight in the second innings, salvaging a hard-earned 76 runs, as the rest of the lineup, except for Shubman Gill, were dismissed for single-digit scores.
In order to rectify the same and avoid embarrassment yet again, the top-order batters, especially skipper Rohit Sharma has taken to the nets and has been training to play against the pace in the SA conditions.
In the video posted by BCCI, Rahul Dravid was also seen having conversation with young opener Yashashvi Jaiswal, who struggled in the first match with meagre scores of 17 and 5 runs respectively across both innings.
Indian bowlers were seen to be in full effect as well, notably the likes of Ravindra Jadeja who is slated to make a comeback in the second Test against South Africa.
