WATCH - Rohit Shares a Funny Moment with Sarfaraz and Yashasvi While Setting the Field in Dharamsala Test
When fielding against England, Rohit Sharma had a funny moment setting the field against Jonny Bairstow in Dharamsala.

As India were fielding in the first innings against England in the fifth Test at Dharamsala, the skipper Rohit Sharma was at his jovial self as he had a funny moment with the young duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan.

In the 39th over of the match, Rohit was seen setting the field for Jonny Bairstow. He had instructed Sarfaraz to stand on short leg and Jaiswal at leg slip. The captain had physically moved both men to the right positions that he felt were correct as the players laughed during the moment.

A few overs later, Bairstow was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav as the batter had a faint edge which carried to the keeper. Despite the review from England, the ultra-edge showed a spike as the umpire’s decision was retained. The Yorkshireman had a good start but was unable to capitalise on it and make the most of his landmark 100th Test.

India went on to have a brilliant day on the field with Kuldeep leading the charge with a brilliant five-wicket haul to get the hosts in front. Ravichandran Ashwin also chipped in with four wickets and Ravindra Jadeja picked one to clear out the batting unit for just 218 runs.

Rohit along with Yashasvi Jaiswal gave the home side a fantastic start as they picked their moments and attacked the opposition to bring up their respective fifties. Jaiswal was dismissed just after his half-century but Rohit remains unbeaten on 52 with Shubman Gill looking in fine touch.

Both Sarfaraz and Jurel will also look to bat in the innings and bring up some big runs on the board as both players will look to establish themselves in the side for the long run after making their debuts earlier on in the series.

The Indian team will look to carry on their momentum through to the second day of the Test as the side will attempt to finish off the series on a positive and look ahead for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) and then the T20 World Cup being hosted by the West Indies and the United States of America.
