Team India seeks redemption after suffering a batting collapse in the second ODI against Sri Lanka on August 4. The Men in Blue were bundled out for 208 runs while chasing 241 on the sluggish surface in Colombo. Ahead of the match, skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were spotted engaging in a playful banter. The players were gearing up to take the field when Kohli noticed something hilarious in the stands. An Indian fan came with a modified poster of the famous cricket-themed Bollywood movie, Lagaan. Rohit was portrayed as the central character Bhuvan, who was played by Aamir Khan in the blockbuster film.
The poster caught the attention of Kohli, who took some moments to understand the concept and burst into laughter. He immediately called Rohit Sharma, who was yet to come out on the field. Kohli then asked the skipper to look at the redesigned poster of Lagaan. The Indian skipper could not stop laughing as soon as he spotted his face in the place of Amir Khan.

A few other players like Kuldeep Yadav and Shreyas Iyer were warming up there alongside Kohli and Rohit. They were also left in splits after seeing the poster, which also featured some other key members of the Indian team who were labelled as “Modern-day Lagaan Warriors.” The moment was captured in a video on X (formerly Twitter).
India will have to win the third ODI against Sri Lanka to level the series. The hosts put up a neck-and-neck fight in the first game, which ended in a draw after both teams posted 230 runs. The Indian batting lineup looked quite pale in that match as well. Rohit Sharma pulled off a blazing start to the chase, scoring a quickfire 58 which comprised seven boundaries and three sixes. KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer made some valuable contributions but the other batters failed to shine.
Rohit Sharma continued his sublime form in the second ODI and scored 64 runs off 44 balls. After the other top-order batters returned early to the pavilion, Axar Patel tried to revive the innings with a 44-run knock. The all-rounder, however, fell short of support as India lost the match by 32 runs.
