Bhopal's Chhaya Singh, Daughter Of IAS, Secures 65th Rank On Her 4th Attempt

The results of the UPSC 2023 exam were announced on Tuesday. 27 candidates from Madhya Pradesh, including 11 from Bhopal, were selected. In this, Chhaya Singh of Bhopal has secured the 65th position. Chhaya Singh is the daughter of IAS officer Chhote Singh. Today, let’s take a look at her success story.

According to reports, this was Chhaya Singh’s fourth attempt. She was appointed as Assistant Commandant of CRPF through UPSC in 2019. After this, in 2020, Chhaya was selected for the post of Women and Child Development Officer. Chhaya cleared CSE in 2021. After this, she got into IDAS. But every time, she wanted to achieve a better rank.

After four years of hard work, Chhaya passed the UPSC exam in 2023. When the results came, she ranked 65. With this, her dream of becoming an IAS was also fulfilled.

Meanwhile, in a media interaction, Chhaya’s father said that she had gone to Ladakh with her friends for holidays while the results were out. As soon as Chhaya heard the result of the exam, she called home happily. The whole family jumped after the call as she achieved huge success after all her hard work.

Along with her two brothers from Bhopal, Sachin Goyal, a doctor by profession, has ranked 209 and Sameer Goyal ended up in the 222nd rank.

Sameer and Sachin have been fond of uniforms since childhood. Both brothers used to study together. Today, both brothers also managed to clear UPSC together. Their family is also happy with this success. Sameer and Sachin’s father, Sanjay Goyal, is the executive director of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bhopal. While their mother, Dr Sangeeta Goyal, is a paediatrician.

In another remarkable feat, Arnav Bhandari of Bhopal also cracked the UPSC with AIR 232. Arnav, in a recent interview, shared that he started studying for the UPSC in February 2020. Last year, he was on the reserve list, and later, he was selected for the Ministry of Railways. But this year his dream for the selection process for IPS is fulfilled.
