A third-year LLB student at National Law University, Delhi, reportedly died by suicide on Monday. Her body was discovered in her hostel room on Tuesday afternoon, alongside a suicide note, according to a report by The Indian Express.

The suicide note left by the student mentioned that she did not blame anyone for her decision and expressed apologies to her parents for taking this extreme step, reported the police.

Additional DCP (Dwarka), Nishant Gupta was quoted by Indian Express as saying that the student, a Chennai native, had been struggling with academic pressure and had previously expressed suicidal thoughts to her roommates in April this year. He further added that the student was taken to Chennai by her family for a week after her roommates informed them.

Her parents are anticipated to arrive today, and the body is already in the mortuary with a post-mortem examination planned for today.

In a separate incident, a 24-year-old MBBS student was found hanging in his residence in Assam’s Cachar district, police reported. Two handwritten notes, confirmed by the family as written by the student, were recovered from the scene.

The student, who was in his final year at Silchar Medical College and Hospital, was discovered hanging in his room late on September 3. The police were notified immediately after the discovery. According to a senior officer, the notes left behind by the student sought forgiveness from his mother and stated that no one was to be blamed for his death.
