UP Police Recruitment Board Brings Transparency In Constable Selection
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) declared through a notification that it will be recruiting 52,699 candidates for the position of constable.

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has announced a groundbreaking update for the upcoming recruitment of 52,699 constables, introducing a Normalisation System to ensure fairness and transparency in the selection process. The official notification, issued and uploaded on December 18, outlines the implementation of this system to address concerns related to the varying difficulty levels across different exam shifts.

Candidates often worry about the fairness of the selection process, fearing that some may receive special treatment. To alleviate these concerns, the recruitment board decided to introduce the Normalisation System in 2021. The system aims to calculate the final scores of candidates in a manner that ensures equal opportunities for all, eliminating any disparities arising from different exam shifts.

The recruitment examination, to be conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, will consist of two or more shifts. The notification provides a formula for the Normalisation System in these exams. This system revises the scores of candidates to account for differences in exam difficulty across various shifts or sessions. The mean and standard deviation of scores obtained by candidates are calculated, and raw scores are then converted to normalised scores. These normalised scores are used to rank candidates and determine their eligibility for the next stage of the recruitment process.

The implementation of the UP Police SI Normalisation System is a strategic move to ensure that all candidates are evaluated fairly, regardless of the session or shift in which they took the exam. This innovative approach removes the chances of bias or favouritism, providing a level playing field for every candidate. It ultimately allows the Uttar Pradesh police force to recruit the most competent and qualified individuals.

This step towards transparency and fairness in the selection process reflects the commitment of UPPRPB to uphold the integrity of recruitment procedures. The Normalisation System is poised to contribute to a more robust and unbiased evaluation of candidates, ensuring that only the most deserving individuals proceed to the next stages of the recruitment process.
