It’s no secret that television actors work long hours every day to ensure our favourite shows bring something fresh daily. Often, these actors must work without any breaks. Ankit Gupta, currently seen in Maati Se Bandhi Dor alongside Rutuja Bagwe, has been working non-stop for the past 45 days without a single day off.
In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Ankit Gupta revealed that the entire production team is “very tired" because they don’t have a bank of episodes ready and are, therefore, forced to work continuously. He shared that they’re also not getting enough sleep since they end up shooting for 14-15 hours daily.
“What we shot yesterday will be telecast today. What we’re shooting today will go on air tomorrow. It’s been more than 50 days, and nobody from our unit has taken a break. I’ve been shooting continuously for 45 days now. We’re all very tired. The entire unit is exhausted. We shoot for 14-15 hours every day. We don’t get enough sleep, and people are under pressure. It’s very difficult," he told us. He then added, “Whenever we get time, we try to take a power nap. What else can we do?"
The 35-year-old actor, who rose to fame with Udaariyaan and his stint in Bigg Boss 17, further admitted that his hectic work schedule takes a toll on his mental health. “I’ve been managing five hours of sleep every day—six hours at most. Ideally, I need 8-9 hours of sleep daily. Plus, I have to manage my workout sessions and my diet because I’m on camera. It takes a lot," he said.
Ankit Gupta also expressed his frustration, saying it hurts when, despite all their hard work, people still write negative things on social media or troll their show.
In Maati Se Bandhi Dor, Ankit Gupta plays Rannvijay. The show also stars Rutuja Bagwe as Vaiju, a woman who used to work in the fields to support her family. Her life changes when Rannvijay dismisses her as a potential wife.
