Freya Allan Ready to Have Spinoff on Her Role in 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes': 'I Could Write It' | Exclusive
Freya Allan teased a possible sequel of 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes'. The actress plays Mae in the film.

Hollywood actor Freya Allan has given her seal of approval for a spin off based on her character in the ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’. Making her debut in the Planet of the Apes universe, Freya plays the role of Mae in the film. The trailers hint she’s a loner wandering through the Ape planet. In an exclusive chat, we asked her if she would be interested in exploring the backstory of her character in a solo film.

“I could bloody write it at this point. I’ve got the whole back story. That would actually be an interesting stuff to explore. Who knows, if they continue it, they might complete butcher my whole back story (laughs). But there is something quiet interesting with the parents. I know what I would create for the next film, that’s all I am saying,” Freya said.

She also teased a possible sequel in the interaction. “I would prefer if in the next film, you get to understand the backstory and just do it like that,” she said.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes has hosted two international premieres already. The premieres were attended by Andy Serkis, who played the role of Caesar in three Planet of the Apes movies — Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), and War for the Planet of the Apes (2017). In this film, he doubled up as a consultant behind the camera.

In the same chat with us, the film’s lead actor, Own Teague revealed that Serkis sent him an email after the premiere and described it as one of the ‘best emails’ he has ever received. “He emailed me after he watched the film. It was the best emails I have ever received. I won’t say what it said but it was really lovely of him. He was so complimentary of the film and of the entire cast. He said please tell the cast this, I think he was really impressed which means a lot to me personally,” Teague told us exclusively.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will release on May 10.
