New Delhi: Michael Ballack has agreed to sit down with Germany coach Joachim Loew for a clear-the-air meeting.
Ballack incurred the wrath of the Bundestrainer following comments the midfielder made in a newspaper interview and has summoned Chelsea star to a meeting.
In the interview, Ballack suggested that Loew had been disrespectful in his treatment of both Torsten Frings and Kevin Kuranyi during the recent World Cup qualifier with Russia.
The use of the media to express his opinions has evidently upset the national team trainer and Loew has intimated that Ballack may lose the captaincy following his outburst.
Now, following a telephone call on Thursday evening, the two have decided that it's best for them to sort out their differences - and quickly.
"National team coach Joachim Loew and team captain Michael Ballack will meet as soon as possible and have a face-to-face talk," read a statement on the German FA's official website.
"Further details will not be made known at his time. After Low made an approach at Thursday lunchtime, Ballack contacted him in the evening."
