Barcelona: The first half of the second leg of Barcelona vs Paris St Germain Champions League fixture ended with score on 0-0 with two sides playing attacking football early on. Barca were clearly missing Lionel Messi who started on the bench with the host team's pace dropping considerably.

The pace of this game at the start was swift with end to end football being played in the first 30 minutes. Both sides went for the early goals with Barcelona the dominant side in patches courtesy constant attacks led by Ineista. The PSG defence did well to hold firm with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi troubling the makeshift Barca defence on many occasions. Adriano was shown the yellow card for a crude challenge on Lucas Moura in the 42nd minute.

In the 28th minute the visitors' got their best chance of the half with Ibrahimovic running on to a ball over the top and getting a cross across to Moura, whose headed effort from close range was palmed away by keeper Victor Valdes.

In the 23rd minute, Xavi had cut in from the left and fired a shot in, saved by keeper Salvatore Sirigu. PSG attempted to clear but it comes back to Xavi, whose second attempt hit the side netting In the third minute, Barcelona got an early chance, their best of the half as Marco Verratti gave away a free kick on the edge of the area. Xavi stepped up to hit it, firing his shot into the side netting. PSG took the attack to Barcelona early on with PSG break down the other end and Zlatan Ibrahimovic feeding Ezequiel Lavezzi, whose shot is beaten away. The Blaugrana defence looked very vulnerable with Lavezzi once again succeeding in leaving behind the defence forcing a save from Victor Valdes in the fourth minute.

With Lionel Messi and David Beckham starting on the bench for the game with the hosts making three changes at Nou Camp from the first leg, two of them enforced. Adriano came in for the injured Javier Mascherano, Pedro started up front with Alexis Sanchez, and with Messi is only fit enough for the bench, Cesc Fabregas took the striker's role.

Paris St Germain made two changes with Marco Verratti coming in for the suspended Blaise Matuidi, and Thiago Motta getting a game after two months out in the place of David Beckham.
