Rustenberg: England goalkeeper David James has returned to training, providing the team with a boost a day after captain Rio Ferdinand was ruled out of the World Cup through injury.
The 39-year-old James, who has been handed the No. 1 jersey for the tournament, emerged at the start of Saturday's session after being restricted to the gym with knee problems the previous day.
Ferdinand's squad replacement, Tottenham center back Michael Dawson, was to meet up with the team after flying into Johannesburg on Saturday morning.
England's World Cup campaign opens next Saturday against the United States.
