New Delhi: Former Manchester United defender Gary Pallister feels England striker Wayne Rooney should finish his career at Old Trafford and there is not better place for him if he decides to leave the club.
Rooney's United future remains uncertain, following claims by former boss Alex Ferguson that he has handed in a transfer request. But new boss David Moyes, who managed Rooney as a youngster at Everton, said that he would not sell the striker.
And Pallister also seemed positive about Rooney's future with United when asked about it by IBNlive on the sidelines of a promotional event here on Tuesday.
"I am hopeful that Rooney will stay at Old Trafford and continue to help the team win more and more trophies. He's mature enough and he knows things can be resolved between the player and the club and he should continue his career at Old Trafford.
"It's obvious everyone at the club, including the fans, want Wayne to be playing his football here next season," he said. "I don't see where you go better from here. United are wise enough and will definitely not sell him to any of the English clubs. Moyes will want to resolve the issue as soon as possible so that the club can continue with usual business," he added.
