The upcoming edition of the Super Cup, scheduled to be played in Odisha this time, is all set to get underway with a play-off set to take place between I-League sides Inter Kashi and Rajasthan United FC today. The inaugural fixture of the competition will be played between Kolkata giants East Bengal FC and former Indian Super League (ISL) winners Hyderabad FC on Tuesday, January 9. This year’s edition of the Super Cup, also known as the Kalinga Super Cup, will stage the electrifying Kolkata derby between Mohun Bagan Super Giant and East Bengal FC on January 19. As the city of Bhubaneswar gears up to host the Kalinga Super Cup 2024, we take a look at all the details about the competition.
Teams
Overall, 16 teams will be vying for the Super Cup title this year. While 12 teams are from the ISL, the remaining four will be coming from the I-League.

Group A: Mohun Bagan Super Giant, East Bengal FC, Hyderabad FC, Sreenidi Deccan
Group B: Kerala Blasters FC, NorthEast United FC, Jamshedpur FC, Shillong Lajong
Group C: Mumbai City FC, Chennaiyin FC, Punjab FC, Gokulam Kerala
Group D: FC Goa, Odisha FC, Bengaluru FC, Inter Kashi/Rajasthan United FC
Format
The tournament comprises four groups with each having four teams. At the group stage, teams will face each other once. The top sides from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. Winners of this year’s Kalinga Super Cup will get a chance to feature in the ACL 2 Preliminary Stage of the AFC 2023-24 season.
Schedule
Inter Kashi and Rajasthan United FC will feature in a playoff today to determine the fourth I-League outfit of the Kalinga Super Cup. The first semi-final will take place on January 24. The second semi-final will be held on the very next day. The competition is scheduled to end with the final match being played on January 28.
