Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp Invites Specially-abled Fan to Visit Club's Training Facility
Daire Gorman received a special invitation from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to pay a visit to the club's training facility in Kirkby.

Football is more than just a game for those, who are emotionally attached to their favourite teams. The love can be so intense sometimes that people can become emotional while chanting the anthem of the clubs they follow. One such die-hard fan of Liverpool became viral in September last year when a video captured him shedding tears after listening to the rendition of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ ahead of a Premier League match against Aston Villa. The 12-year-old specially-abled boy, recognised as Daire Gorman, later received a special invitation from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for paying a visit to the club’s training facility in Kirkby.

Earlier in September, the English club shared the viral clip on X, promising the kid an opportunity to meet his favourite Liverpool players at the Anfield. “This is what it’s all about giving young disabled supporters the opportunity to live their dreams and visit Anfield to watch their Liverpool FC heroes. Impossible is nothing but only for those who truly believe,” Liverpool wrote in the caption of the post.

The long-awaited moment finally came last week when Daire got a video from Jurgen Klopp, who invited him and his family to watch a training session and meet the players. It was certainly the best-ever Christmas gift for Daire as he could not hold his tears after seeing the video message.

In a video shared on Instagram, Klopp was heard saying, “I just want to let you know we all saw the video of you at Anfield when you were listening to ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’. The players and I absolutely love your passion for the club so we want to do something for you to say thank you. We are going to invite you and your family to Liverpool to meet the players and watch us train.”

After meeting each other at the AXA Training Centre, Jurgen Klopp first spoke about the viral video of Daire, who describes Liverpool as “his life”. Underlining his connection with the club, the German manager said, “I’m a bit older but it’s similar to what you felt in that moment to what I feel in moments. This song means a lot to you and it means a lot to me, I could see your emotions.”

Klopp then helped Daire take a tour of the manager’s office as well as the rehabilitation centre. The kid then got to share a hug with players like Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah. Klopp also presented Daire and his sister with some Christmas gifts.
