Manchester United And Liverpool to Fight for Bayern Munich Star Joshua Kimmich: Report
Manchester United and Liverpool are set to vie for Bayern Munich mid-fielder Joshua Kimmich.

Bayern Munich may have to deal with a massive transfer blow as their midfielder Joshua Kimmich is understood to have appeared on the radars of quite a few European giants. A report published by Spanish outlet AS has claimed that Premier League outfits Manchester United and Liverpool are set to vie for the German international this summer. The article went on to suggest that the two English sides are frontrunners in acquiring the services of Kimmich, who right now reportedly earns more than £300,000 per week. Kimmich’s contract with Bayern Munich is set to expire in the summer of 2025 and has reportedly already succeeded in garnering the attention of multiple clubs across Europe.

Following Jim Ratcliffe’s investment at Old Trafford, Manchester United are expected to rebuild their squad and make some big signings soon. So, it will not be quite a surprise if Joshua Kimmich ends up arriving at Old Trafford. However according to several media reports, Manchester United may face competition from other clubs in roping in the Kimmich.

The AS report mentions that Joshua Kimmich currently does not have a representative and as per multiple articles from the German press, the 28-year-old is also contemplating leaving his future in the hands of an agent. The article claimed that Kimmich’s situation at Bayern Munich has changed. Kimmich had extended his contract in 2021 and did that while maintaining a good relationship with the then-CEO Oliver Kahn and director Hasan Salihamidzic. But neither of them is currently associated with the Bavarian giants.

Joshua Kimmich has been a regular starter for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga so far this season. He has started in all of his 11 appearances in the German domestic league this season. Kimmich’s only absences are understood to have been due to his suspension and illness. He has also succeeded in registering one goal and three assists in the competition till now in the current campaign. Having joined Bayern Munich in 2015, Kimmich has netted 41 goals in 367 appearances. In international football, Kimmich has six goals to his name in 82 matches for Germany.

Coming back to on-field developments, Bayern Munich currently claim the second spot in the Bundesliga standings. Having played 15 matches so far, Thomas Tuchel’s men have collected 38 points in the German domestic league.
