The UEFA presented Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo with a special top scorer award for his incredible goal-scoring record in the elite European club competition, while legendary Italian keeper Gianluigi Buffon was presented with the President award during the draw for the revamped UEFA Champions League 2024-25 on Thursday.
Ronaldo, who has netted a whopping 140 times in 183 UCL games, was given the special honour for his exploits in front of the net in the champagne club competition.

Ronaldo plied his trade in the UCL for multiple European giants such as Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, before his move to Saud Pro League side Al Nassr.
Buffon, the World Cup-winning Italian shot-stopper presented with the special award by UEFA President Alexandre Ceferni for his contributions to the sport.

The two stalwarts also shared a light-hearted moment as Buffon remarked Ronaldo apologised to him after his memorable bicycle goal for Real Madrid against Juventus during the 2017-18 Champions League.

Holders Real Madrid were drawn to face off against Borussia Dortmund at home and Liverpool on the road during the draw for the revamped edition of the continental competition.
