Jason Momoa Opens Up On Possible Comeback In Dune Part 3: 'I'll Get In Trouble'
Recently, Jason Momoa hinted at the possibility of reprising his role of Duncan Idaho in the third instalment of Dune franchise.

Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, based on Frank Herbert’s beloved sci fi novel continues to dominate the box office. Fans are delighted by the gripping storyline and talented cast, featuring Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Zendaya as Chani and Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, among others. While the first Dune movie introduced other intriguing characters, not all of them survived to appear in Part Two. One such character is Duncan Idaho, portrayed by Jason Momoa, who died defending Atreides in the first film. However, in Herbert’s sequel novel, Dune Messiah, Idaho makes a surprising return. Recently, Momoa hinted at the possibility of reprising his role in the third instalment of the franchise, as his character is a significant part to the story. During an interview with Men’s Health, Momoa discussed the return but he stopped on time before revealing specific details.

The Game of Thrones veteran shared, “It’ll be a good future now if Duncan Idaho may have some sort of. You know what we did have? Oh man, I can’t actually say this. I’ll get in trouble. F**k. Well, there was something that was really cool that went into the movie that didn’t make the first one, and it was pretty epic. I’ll try to get it back. I’ll try to get it back in the third one and Duncan drinks Guinness, too."

Earlier, Dune’s lead star Timothee Chalamet also confirmed Jason Momoa’s return as Duncan Idaho in part 3. During a chat with MTV, the Wonka star shared, “Momoa will be back. Well, not in this one, but, In Messiah. If you read the book. It’s so weird because they’re so secretive about the script and about the trailer. Well, the books have been out there for 70 years."

As per Winter Is Coming reports, In Frank Herbert’s books, a group known as the Tleilaxu, creates a clone of Duncan Idaho, referred to him as a ghola, and offers him to Paul Atreides, now the emperor of the galaxy, as a gift. While Paul welcomes the clone of his old friend, he is aware of the Tleilaxu’s hidden agenda. They have manipulated Idaho’s ghola for their own purposes, which Paul was well aware of. Surprisingly, gholas of Duncan Idaho appear in numerous Dune books and if the movie franchise continues, the Aquaman star could have work secured for years.

Apart from Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya and Austin Butler, Dune: Part Two also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, Javier Bardem, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Lea Seydoux, Anya Taylor-Joy and Souheila Yacoub.
