You can choose to log out of your current device or on all devices. This wikiHow will show you how to log out of Instagram using your iPhone, iPad, Android, or computer.
Things You Should Know

  • To sign out on other devices, open "Accounts Center" → "Password and security" → "Where you're logged in" → tap your account → "Select devices to log out".

Using Mobile

Open the Instagram app. This looks like a multicolored camera.

Tap your profile icon. You can find this in the bottom-right corner. This will look like your profile picture. If you don't have one, it will look like a person icon. If you have multiple accounts logged in at once, make sure you're currently on the account you want to log out with. To switch accounts, tap the current username at the top-left corner, and then select the other account from the pop-up menu.

Tap ☰ in the top-right corner. A pop-up menu will open.

Tap Settings and privacy. This is at the very top of the menu.

Scroll down and tap Log out. This is at the very bottom of the page in red. On Android, you may see Log out [username].

Tap Log out again. You may be asked to save your login info for your Instagram account. This will make it easier to log into your account on the same device. If you don't want this saved, tap the switch next to your account so it turns grey. You'll be logged out of Instagram. To log out of other devices, go to Settings and privacy → Accounts Center → Password and security → Where you're logged in → tap your account → Select devices to log out.

Delete saved login information (optional). Instagram may save your login information using your device's password manager. If needed, you can delete this from your device. On iPhone or iPad: Open Settings. Tap Passwords. Enter your passcode or use Face ID. Tap Instagram.com. Tap Delete Password. On Android: Open Settings. Tap General management or General. Tap Passwords and autofill. Select a password manager. Tap Instagram.com. Tap Delete.

Using Desktop

Go to https://www.instagram.com/ in your browser. This will open your Instagram home page if you're logged in.

Click ☰. This will be at the bottom-left corner of the page. A pop-up menu will open.

Click Log out. This is the option at the very bottom. You'll be logged out of Instagram. Alternatively, you can log out by clicking your profile picture, and then the cog icon. From there, click Log Out. If you're worried about Instagram saving your login credentials, you can clear your browsing history and delete saved passwords. To log out of other devices, go to Settings and privacy → Accounts Center → Password and security → Where you're logged in → click your account → Select devices to log out.
