6 Easy Ways to Convert YouTube Videos to MP3
This wikiHow article teaches you how to convert a YouTube video into an MP3 audio file that you can download onto your computer or smartphone. There are many free online converters you can use to download YouTube videos as MP3 files, but because they're often used to download copyrighted videos, they sometimes disappear from the web. Fortunately, there are many reliable YouTube to MP3 converters you can install on Windows, macOS, and Linux that produce high-quality audio files. We'll give you a list of the best YouTube to MP3 converters you can use online, including on your Android and iPhone, plus several free desktop apps that extract audio from any YouTube video.
Steps

Safe Online Converters

If you're looking for an online downloader that lets you extract CD-quality audio from YouTube videos, these sites will be your best option. Just keep in mind that because online downloaders aren't always used for legal purposes, they may be taken down at any time. https://dirpy.com/: This converter lets you choose 320 kbps (CD quality) and lower, all the way down to 32 kbps for the smallest possible files. https://tubemp3.to: This site allows downloads of up to 320 kbps, with lower bitrates available. https://ontiva.com: If you're willing to sign up for an account, you can download up to 320 kbps. Without an account, you'll only get 128 kbps. https://getx.topsandtees.space: Download MP3s up to 320 kbps without signing up for an account. https://mp3dl.cc: While this site doesn’t offer downloads specifically in the MP3 format, you can download even higher-quality files as FLAC, OGG, AAC, and WAV formats. For lower-quality MP3s (smaller files). If you don't need the best possible quality, try one of these safe options: https://en.onlinevideoconverter.pro: Download MP3 files from any YouTube video in a medium-quality variable bitrate (VBR) format. https://motionbox.io/tools/youtube-to-mp3: This site creates 128 kbps MP3 files in a few quick steps with no account required. https://loader.to: Another fast and free option with lower-quality MP3 files. https://ytmp3.nu/0C1e3/: An effective and expert-recommended YouTube to MP3 converter.

Online YouTube to MP3 converters offer a quick way to extract audio from streaming videos. You can use an online converter on any platform—even on Android and iOS (though there are a few extra steps if you're using an iPhone or iPad). All you'll need to do is grab the video's URL, paste it into the downloader, and the website does the hard work for you. But while many online YouTube to MP3 converters are available, they aren't all safe. Keep in mind that doing a search for online converters with the word "safe" is like pressing on the gas in your car with your eyes closed and saying "Safe!" as you drive down the road blind. Using the search term "safe" does nothing to weed out the bad sites, so it's important to be cautious.

Despite being fast and easy to use, online converters can be volatile and unreliable. Many online converters are not only loaded with ads, but can also infect your system with malware. To help keep you safe as you download MP3s, we've created a list of safe online downloaders that produce quality audio files from all YouTube videos. Even so, you should still proceed with caution—make sure to use an ad blocker and keep your antivirus software up to date before using any online downloaders.

Type in documents by readdle Tap GET to the right of the "Documents – File Reader. Browser." heading. It's the app with a gray "D" icon with yellow and green tinting at the top-left corner.

Open Documents and go through the welcome screens. You'll find its "D" icon in your app list. The first time you open Documents, you'll be asked to choose some preferences. You'll also be asked if you want to pay for a subscription, which isn't necessary—just tap the X and Skip when prompted to get to the main Documents screen.

Open the Documents web browser. Tap the Browser compass icon at the bottom-right corner to open Documents' built-in browser.

Go to a safe online YouTube converter in a browser. Check out our list of YouTube to MP3 converters to find one. If the site you try doesn't work, try another downloader.

Return to the Documents web browser and paste the URL. The web-based converter will have a field you can paste the URL into. To paste the URL, just tap and hold the field at the top of the page and select Paste.

Select Audio from the drop-down menu. All of the converters will have different options, but you'll often have to choose a tab called Audio or MP3 to find the quality you want to download.

Select one of the MP3 download options. Once you make a selection, you'll see the option to save, convert, or download the file. The higher the bit rate (KBPS), the better the quality. Higher bitrates also result in larger files.

Choose a saving location and tap Done. The MP3 file will begin to download to your iPhone. The default download location is a folder called Downloads in the Documents by Readdle folder on your iPhone. This location is fine, but you can choose another option if you want. You'll be able to open the downloaded audio using your iPhone's Files app no matter where you save the file.

Tap the arrow at the bottom to view your downloads. This shows you any files you've downloaded so far, as well as active downloads. Wait several moments for the download to complete—these are large files, so it can take a while to download. Don't be alarmed if it looks like the progress bar isn't moving. Once the download is complete, the progress bar will disappear.

Play your MP3 file. Now you can listen to the MP3 by tapping it in your Documents by Readdle downloads, or by opening the Files app on your iPhone/iPad and going to On My iPhone > Documents by Readdle.
