Presenting Yourself Well
Try to match your clothes and coordinate your outfit, instead of putting random pieces of clothing together. Show people you have a good sense for fashion!
After you have purchased your outfit and put it on, go to the beauty clinic. Get a nice pair of lips and choose a pretty shade of lipstick to go with it. From here, you can purchase a new pair of eyes that were not available to you when you first created your movie star! Explore the different eye shadow options, too. Try a look that brings out a bolder version of you! Use a color that will go well with many outfits you'll be wearing in the future. You won't want to purchase a makeup look, only to have it match with a specific outfit and nothing else! Beware bright and bold colors. Neon, eye-bleed colors aren't something that would appeal to many people. Instead, go for the lighter and less intense shades. Try to go for more natural colors like soft reds, delicate pinks, peachy oranges, and subtle browns. These will compliment your skin tone better. Stay away from neon colors, unless it's for a costume or another specific reason. Otherwise, you're likely to regret it gradually.
Know that skin color does not matter. You are beautiful just the way you are. Use the skin color that suits you, and don't go overboard. Don't feel as if you need to fake a skin tone, because it most definitely will not affect your popularity.
Movies
Make a good movie, and include other users in them. (It's a good idea to include people with a good collection of clothes in the movie, so that you can switch up their wardrobe when needed.) When you publish your movie, you should opt to advertise it to other users. It is recommended and more common these days to create artbooks advertising movies. You can also join chatrooms to advertise your movie. Be specific whenever advertising your movie, using the movie's title so that people know which movie you're talking about. Try not to be annoying, however, as it can be unbearable to other players if you constantly message them and spam advertising for your latest movie. This can drive people away. Also, do not be alarmed if certain people you reach are not interested, but don't let those things discourage you! Have patience. Try not to use too many animated characters from MovieStarPlanet's selection. You could add one if you'd like, or none at all, it's all up to you. Simply try including other, real users, instead. Put your friends in your movie. Make sure to dress them nicely, as well. Make sure that the movie is a reasonable length. Ten seconds is simply too short. Don't make it too long, either, like putting it beyond 4 or 5 minutes. Most people may not want to sit through it. About a minute for your movie should work best. In MovieStarPlanet, many users put "SM" in their titles, referring to "Short Movie." Try including it in the title if it's a short movie. Take your time making the movies. If you rush them all, they will seem sloppy and poor in quality, and people won't want to keep watching them. The more time you spend organizing and tweaking things, the better the final product will come out.
Ask others to watch your movies. Watch the movies of other users, as well. It's good to support others' movies!
Be polite about other people's movies. Don't go watching movies, only to comment things like "Your movies are rubbish," or "You're ugly in that movie." It's not kind at all! Instead, try to comment nice things under people's movies. Maybe mention a part of the movie you liked, or talk about scene you found to be funny.
Behaving Nicely
Avoid gossiping about people. If you seem rude, who is going to want to be your friend and help you out? When you join a chatroom, start by giving a simple "hi". Complimenting people on their clothes and boonies is an icebreaker, and gets a good conversation started. Don't make yourself sound like you're just giving automated responses, though! You have to really communicate and be genuine to get good conversations with people.
Don't complain and make a scene about low level users or high level users, as this will make others think that you're stuck up and snobby. Remember that nobody's perfect, so don't bother trying to act like you're flawless and superior, as that will make you seem stuck up, as well. Try a friendlier, humble approach when trying to get to know people. Again, begin with a kind hello.
Don't friend and date someone just to have a boyfriend, with no other intentions than to have that status.
Helpful Actions
Be generous. If you are able, give diamond rides to people who need starcoins. Giving a diamond ride gives other players in the room a glorious rain of 1,000 starcoins for them to collect! It also gives 1,000 starcoins directly to you. For this, however, you'll need 15 diamonds. Regardless, the diamond ride helps many people! Also, If people auto you, give them one back out of generosity. This goes for views and loves, as well. Try to return the favor every now and then.
Give autographs to people who need to level up.
Give someone gifts if they need clothes or other items. Check their wishlist and buy something for them. You could also give them clothes you bought that you don't want anymore.
