Using the Mobile App
Open Google Calendar on your phone or tablet. It’s the blue and white calendar icon typically found on the home screen or in the app drawer. Though you can’t create custom events from Gmail in the mobile app, you can set Gmail and Google Calendar to automatically create events from certain emails (such as reservations and meeting requests).
Tap the ≡ menu. It’s at the top-left corner of the screen.
Scroll down and tap Settings. It’s toward the bottom of the menu.
Tap Events from Gmail. It’s near the top of the menu.
Slide ″Add events from Gmail″ to the On Android 7 Switch On position. Now when you receive an email message that Gmail recognizes as something you’ll want on your calendar, an event will be added to your calendar automatically.
Using a Computer
Open Gmail in a web browser. If you haven’t signed in to Gmail yet, sign in now.
Click the message to open it.
Click the ⁝ menu. It’s in the icon bar right above the message.
Click Create event. It’s near the middle of the menu. This creates a new Google Calendar event named after the email’s subject line.
Set the time, date, and location. Click the date below the event name to open the calendar, then click the desired date. Edit the beginning and end times as desired. If the event doesn’t occur at a specific time, check the ″All day″ box instead. If the event occurs at a physical location, click Add location to select it. Select a repeat-pattern or Does not repeat from the drop-down menu.
Edit the name and details. To change the event’s name to something other than the email subject, edit the title in the box at the top of the page. The body of the email appears in the large typing area. You can add or remove anything you wish.
Invite guests to the event. Invitees appear under the ″GUESTS″ header on the right side of the page. Both you and the sender appear on this list by default, as will anyone else whose email addresses were entered into the ″To″ field. To remove an invitee, hover the mouse over the person’s name, then click the X. To add another guest, type their name or email address into the ″Add guests″ box, then click the correct contact when they appear. Choose whether the guests can edit the invitation, invite others, or see the guest list under the ″Guests can″ header.
Click SAVE to create the event. This will also send invitations to anyone you’ve added to the guest list.
