12 held for gambling

HYDERABAD: The task force sleuths on Sunday arrested 12 persons who were found playing the three-cards game and recovered Rs 1.13 lakh from them. On a tip-off, police raided a house located at Amber Nagar in Warasiguda in Secunderabad and found all the 12 gambling with cards. On tip off, the police raided on the house and arrested when the accused were playing the game. Police also recovered an amount of `1.13 lakh and playing cards were seized from the possession of the accused persons.   Police said that one of the accused Balasimha was into milk business whose shop was demolished during road widening. Since then he has been facing financial problems. To overcome, he took to gambling. He invited known players to his house to play the three-cards game and took a kit amount from each person. All the 12 accused along with seized material have been handed over to Chilkalguda police station.
