BANGALORE: As many as 199 trainees from the Border Security Force (BSF) were attested as Sub-Inspectors on Saturday morning after passing 48 weeks of basic training at the BSF’s Subsidiary Training Centre (STC). Governor H R Bhardwaj attended the passing out-cum-attestation parade where all the 199 Sub-Inspectors participated.The passing out parade witnessed the attestation of nine women Sub-Inspectors for the first time in the history of the Border Security Force. After congratulating all the Sub-Inspectors, the Governor awarded trophies to the best students of the batch. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “I believe that in your next assignment, you will fulfil all your duties as BSF Inspectors. You are now important citizens of the country.”Appreciating the presentation of the parade, Bhardwaj wished the newly recruited Sub-Inspectors best of luck and encouraged them to perform better. The Sub-Inspectors, cheered by their family members, marched with pride.BSF has a total strength of around 2.5 lakh and is the largest Central Armed Police force guarding the border. It has 13 frontiers, 44 sectors and 171 Batallions.
