BANGALORE: The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) in association with Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) has proposed to construct 30,000 housing units for the economically weaker sections in the city.In an MoU signed with HUDCO, BDA has decided to take the affordable housing project forward.Speaking after signing the MoU, Bharatlal Meena, Commissioner, BDA said that the BDA plans to build 144 units in Nandini Layout and 512 houses in Valagerahalli. BDA announced that this scheme would benefit the backward sections in the city. It added that the collaboration with HUDCO will bring the skills of the two groups together to make this housing projects affordable. BDA has also announced that it has received directions for such schemes in 16 areas.On behalf of HUDCO, Balakrishna, Managing Director, signed the agreement. According to the agreement, BDA will operate and execute the project and HUDCO will handle the project formulation, detailed project report preparation. HUDCO will also take care of planning design services and provide loan assistance.
